The opening of the pop-up boutique in the Hamptons marks a new chapter in the legendary house’s 117- year history—a story of love, beauty, world-renowned luxury, and exquisite Italian craftsmanship elevated  to art.

In 1896, a young wine merchant named Remigio Pratesi fell in love with a beautiful woman in his village  outside Florence. In hopes of wooing her, Pratesi commissioned an exquisite set of linens to be made. It took two years for local seamstresses to stitch intricate laces and embroider motifs by hand. After three  years, they married. By 1906, he was selling linens inspired by those wedding gifts to the local nobility.

Remigio Pratesi’s passion for excellence established a tradition of exceptional craftsmanship passed down  through four generations. More than a century later, the drive to achieve the finest hand-crafted linens  in the world continues to define the House of Pratesi, where a love of quality is the foremost brand legacy.

Today, Pratesi linens are made with the same care and generational knowledge with which Remigio Pratesi’s marital gifts were created. Every step of their process is thoughtfully considered to attain the utmost quality: after the weaving at the finest mill, the linens are then transported to a master-cutting atelier employing the most skilled artisans in the region. From there, the linens travel to the finest embroidery ateliers, to be needle-worked by only the best embroiderers. After they finish, the linens are transferred back to the cutting atelier, where expert cutters trim around the delicate embroidery. Pratesi’s Old World methods are such that a master artisan embroiders just three flat sheets in an entire day’s  work. Such a process spares no expense, time, or effort in achieving the most artful and luxurious linens  in the world.

Lovingly created and presented in classic orange packaging made of Forest Stewardship Counsil (FSC)  certified 100% recyclable paper, Pratesi inspires la dolce vita from the moment of receiving—and is ever after a delight to have and hold! For more details on the brand visit Pratesi’s website here. Pratesi’s pop-up will be located at 43 Jobs Lane in Southampton starting Memorial Day Weekend!
