SHARE

“My name is Fede, and I love to mix drinks in my home bar and share them with cocktail lovers around the globe on Instagram @welcometomybar and my blog.”  Sounds like a fun plan, no?  KDHamptons recently discovered Fede’s fabulous “Instabar” and his passion for creating unique cocktail recipes paired with beautiful photos.

Fede tells KDHamptons, “I believe that you just need some basic guidance and trial to mix some delicious drinks at home.  For this reason, I decided to share my home bar adventures and cocktails along the way, to inspire people to drink well with beautiful drinks.”  We asked Fede to mix up three spring cocktails for Hamptons springtime tipplers.  Cheers!

SPRING G&T
INGREDIENTS:
– 1 oz / 30 ml pink gin
– Tonic water
– 2 strawberries
– 4 raspberries

METHOD: Fill a large copa glass with with ice. Pour the gin and top up with tonic water. Garnish with strawberries and raspberries.

MARMALDE NEGRONI
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Gin
1.5 oz Campari
1.5 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Teaspoons of Unsweetened Orange Marmalade
1 Slice of Orange
METHOD:
This drink is very easy to make and can be built in a glass. I used an empty marmalade jar as I found it more fitting in terms of presentation, but a tumbler glass can work just as well.
Add the unsweetened orange marmalade to the glass. I usually press it against the bottom of the glass so it releases into the drink more slowly.  Add ice to the glass. Pour all the liquids in and garnish with a slice of orange.
Tip: You can sub soda water to the Gin for a lighter but still very delicious drink.

BASIL SMASH
INGREDIENTS:
– 2 oz / 60 ml gin
– 1 oz / 30 ml fresh lemon juice
– 0.75 oz / 22 ml simple syrup
– 6 basil leaves
METHOD:
Build in a shaker, muddle, add ice and shake well. Double strain in a tumbler glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel with a basil leaf in its center.

FIG SMASH
INGREDIENTS:
– 1.5 oz / 45 ml vodka
- 2 oz / 60 ml ginger ale
- 0.5 oz / 15 ml honey syrup
- 0.5 oz / 15 ml lemon juice
– 1 fig
– 1 slice of dehydrated fig to garnish
METHOD:
Muddle the fig in a shaker, add a handful of crushed ice to the shaker, add all the liquids to the shaker and shake. Pour unstrained in a tumbler glass and garnish with a dehydrated fig garnish.
