NEW KDHamptons Design Obsession: Carrière Frères Candles & Home Accents
I don’t know about you, but I can never have enough candles in my home and am always on the hunt for new brands and scents. I recently met the creative director of Carrière Frères candles at East Hampton Gardens which feature a unique wax formula that allows for a clean and even burn. Inspired by the indomitable spirit of scientific discovery, Carrière Frères now explores the world of scents and you will fall in love with this line.
Carrière Frères candles are luxury-crafted in our own Normandy factory in France. Numerous steps mark this exceptional process. Firstly, the glass is white-lacquered by a specialist. Wicks are then placed and secured in each vessel. Because every essential oil burns at a different temperature, each fragrance is paired with its own specially woven wick for an optimal burn.
Every ingredient is then weighed and melted, with the perfume blended in at the last instance. Candles are then hand-poured; each holds 6.5 oz. of scented wax. As the wax hardens, the wicks are set upright, by hand, to be perfectly centered. Each candle is then slightly melted on top, to ensure a smooth surface. Once cooled, Carrière Frères’ candles are hand-packaged.
