After changing hands over last July, the new owners of the historic Shagwong restaurant in Montauk took the 80-year old room and revved up some winter renovations. Located in the heart of the hamlet, Shagwong is a legendary tavern that re-opened its doors in March 2016 and is ready for a new summer season with a bright shine and new updated feel, but don’t worry, the Shagwong still encompasses the old Montauk 1970’s nostalgic vibes. The new owners just stripped away the old dust, and in doing so uncovered and reframed lots of iconic photos that were hidden away in the basement.

Beer and alcohol will be flowing followed by a refreshed menu this coming Spring. The menu will feature traditional American fare, such as fresh Montauk caught lobsters, seafood and local prime meats as well as revolving seasonal specials. The Shagwong welcomes families, kids, bar-goers and will be open year-round.
