The lecture series kicks off on March 12th with landscape architect, Quincy Hammond, alongside architecture experts Richard Bories and James Shearron. Quincy Hammond is a third-generation landscape architect and began acquiring her intimate knowledge of plants at a very young age while working summers in her grandfather’s nursery. Her practice specializes in minimal and modern interpretations of formal gardens and has offices in Georgia and New York City. Quincy will speak beside Richard Bories and James Shearron of Bories & Shearron Architecture who’s passion is to work in traditional and classical architectural styles. Their eclectic approach ranges from ‘symmetrical and formal’ to ‘the simple and reserved’.

The March 12th event will be followed by two more lectures; The LaGuardia Design Group with Stelle Lomont Rouhani Architects on March 19th and the lectures ending with Hollander Design Landscape as well as Kligerman Architecture and Design on March 26th. The LaGuardia Design Group says that rather than attempting to mimic nature, their goal with every design is to interpret natural processes as an artistic expression in their work. Their co-speaker on March 12th, Stelle Lomont Rouhani Architects, has a mission of creating a rewarding design and building experience for their clients. Their goal is for each project to be just as unique as the next.

The three lectures pair noted landscape architects with architects to discuss the ins and outs of their relationships, from renovating properties to ground-up construction. How a house sits in its landscape and its effect on the environment is of crucial importance; the design of a house can have a tremendous impact on a property. Made feels that bringing the two disciplines together to create a harmonious whole is crucial in today’s environment.
