Ladies Who Lunch: KDH Heads To Manhattan For A Girls Day Of Mussels & Diamonds!

SHARE
KDH had a fun girls day with our old friend Laura Darrin in NYC.
Laura and I shared the house specialty: "Le Charlot" mussels with lemongrass, leeks, white wine and a touch of cream~yum!
We had a delicious grilled chicken and arugula salad for lunch; of course we had to order fries with mayonnaise on the side!
Rebecca Selva at Fred Leighton is the premier expert on estate jewelry in Manhattan and has shared her knowledge with KDH over the years...
We popped over to Fred Leighton after lunch to have my diamond band sized. My Edwardian engagement ring (both pictured above) is also from Fred Leighton's estate collection.
The inside of Fred Leighton looks like a life-size jewelry box!
The Fred Leighton store always has gorgeous window displays.

Now that the summer season is officially over, KDH is already missing our friends who head back to Manhattan :(.  Fun NYC day trips and exciting evening plans are definitely on the Fall calendar for KDH. This week, I popped in to meet one of my old magazine friends from Conde Nast, Laura Darrin, who drove in from Connecticut for a girls afternoon. First we went over to see Sunny to get mani/pedis at my favorite old neighborhood nail salon, Nails on 54th, then it was off to Bergdorf Goodman to buy my favorite beauty products from YSL (since Saks closed in Southampton, it’s difficult to find luxury beauty products in the Hamptons). After the BG beauty stop it was time for lunch at French bistro, Le Charlot on the Upper East Side, and for dessert…..ogling over the baubles at Fred Leighton estate jewelers!!

Admittedly, after a delightful day in the city, I was eager to head home to Southampton for dinner with my new husband!
