Say Cheese! Is there really anything better? Whether serving it at brunch, a dinner party or home alone watching Revenge, a perfectly constructed cheese board is one of my favorite indulgences. Balancing an perfect assortment of artisanal cheeses, breads, fruits, and spreads is an acquired skill. This week I came across some good tips to follow on www.redenvelope.com that will bring out your inner cheesemonger….

It’s not just about unwrapping a bunch of cheeses and slapping them on a wooden cutting board. Why not impress your guests with some funky, novel flavors that can be served before, or after the meal. Picking the perfect cheeses can be overwhelming, and what you accessorize the cheeses with is just as important. My favorite local cheeses are made by Mecox Bay Dairy farms in Bridgehampton. ***Chic cheesy Tip: A rustic wooden cutting board always works well for serving, but why not try a charming, pretty, or personal serving piece~ get creative, look around your pantry and get creative. A beautiful cake plate can be repurposed as a cheese plate, or split the cheeses up on two large ornate dinner plates.
