Thanksgiving

“It was always such a special time when Thanksgiving rolled around at our house growing up in Southampton.  My mother would bring out the turkeys and pilgrim decorations and my siblings and I would always roll our eyes at her excitement to decorate the house,” shares KDHamptons contributing editor and owner of Topiaire Floral Boutique, Erin Meaney.  “Mom would start baking turkey cut out cookies and the preparations for the family holiday began.  We would often have Thanksgiving dinner for 35 or 40 relatives at our house.”  The best Hamptons hostesses know that Thanksgiving table top decor is just as important as the meal you serve.  Erin shares some beautiful design accents which will wow your holiday dinner guests, below.

“Today at Topiaire I have tried to recreate that feeling of celebrating holidays with your family and creating those memories with vintage inspired decorations.  I love when people come out from the city and tell me they have to buy a new decoration each year to add to their collection.  It truly is magical, and I love when my kids roll their eyes as the turkeys come up, the day after Halloween, because I know that someday it will mean so much to them,” says Erin.

“At Thanksgiving dinner we would always play the first Christmas song of the season and light seasonal candles.  I have such fond memories of all of my mom’s decorations and excitement, year after year, to make these amazing memories for my sisters, brother, and me,” says Erin.
