Haute Bargains in the Hamptons – All In the Name of Ovarian Cancer Research!

It was a wet and rainy 15th annual Super Saturday charity event in Water Mill, but that didn’t’ stop celebrities from strutting the grass carpet or the serious shoppers who flocked out east to grab designer discounts. In spite of all the crazy traffic and impending lightening storms the event, which featured more than 200 designers selling their merchandise for steep discounts, raised $3.6 million to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

Rain didn't stop the crowds from making their way to the event to shop, shop, shop!

Check out what Kelly Ripa, and Mark Feuerstein shared with us! First up~ gorgeous Kelly Ripa:

Kelly Rippa, Mark Feuerstein

KDHamptons: Kelly, we love your rainy day style! Who are you wearing soggy Super Saturday?

Kelly Ripa: I am wearing a skirt from four years ago – the sequins are falling off it –my boots that I wear to my daughter’s riding lessons, a Club Monaco shirt older than my son and a T-shirt I got years ago! I planned on wearing something different today, but the rain was so vexing, I thought I’d wear something I could wear with boots.

KDHamptons: Who is the hardest person to shop for in your family, and what was one of the best family deals you scored here at Super Saturday?

Kelly Ripa: My husband is the hardest person in the family to shop for – I like shopping for my kids. I bought both my sons communion suits here by Hickey Freeman suits here for $20 – they were little when I bought them. But they grew into them and they wore them for their communion!

KDHamptons: What’s the best fashion advice you ever received?

Kelly Ripa: Know what you feel comfortable in – if you do, you’ll carry yourself with a certain confidence. If you wear a trend, like I did, thinking, ‘Gee, I don’t know about this catsuit with cowboy boots’ – and everyone said, ‘It’s so hot right now, you have to’! So I walked through the red carpet slumped over and insecure, so not every trend is made for everybody. If you feel good about your clothing, you’ll carry yourself the right way.

KDHamptons: What do you wish your Smartphone could do that it can’t?

Kelly Ripa: Find a cure for Ovarian Cancer!

KDHamptons: If you had only one designer to dress your family – everyone – who would it be?

Kelly Ripa: Oh my gosh, I’m going to say Carolina Herrera, but Mark would probably say, ‘Oh great.

KDHamptons: How are you enjoying your rotating hosts on LIVE! With Kelly?

Kelly Ripa: I really do enjoy it very much and I’m very impressed with how good they all are. We just had a contest winner for a “real people” co-host search, and his name was Michael Buckley and he was phenomenal. So, basically anyone with a mouth – (laughs) can host my show. We haven’t had a dud yet! And I can’t say enough about our producers, because they make it like a small family backstage. It’s all about welcoming our guests and featuring them and showing them off to the country.

KDHamptons: How would you describe your fashion style?

Kelly Ripa: Soo “last year” (laughs) or “so three years ago” is what my fashion style is! I tend to wear things for years and years and years. I don’t believe you have to wear something once and put it away. If I love it, I wear it over and over again. Most of my outfit today is older than my children!

KDHamptons: What’s your shopping weakness?

Kelly Ripa: Shoes and handbags! For so many years I was pregnant and up and down the scale, but shoes never fail you and you don’t even need to try them on!

Mark Feuerstein, star of Royal Pains, chats with KDHamptons below:
Mark Feuerstein with his adorable daughter...

KDHamptons: Mark, what are some of your favorite things about the Hamptons?

Mark Feuerstein: Being with my children on the beach – there’s nothing better – to watch the sunset while the kids are crabbing and building sandcastles – that is heaven! Buying fresh fruits and vegetables at the farm stands and being with my parents and my wife’s parents, who are my kids’ grandparents.

KDHamptons: How would you describe your fashion style?

Mark Feuerstein: My fashion style is ‘pick what’s on top of the pile and put it on!’ But thankfully, for “Royal Pains” and my wife, we have incredible costume and wardrobe supervisors who pick clothing that I can wear on the hiatus. I like to wear the Italian designers – Armani is my favorite – and I like jeans. Page Premium Denim – I wear them every episode – I know it’s a girl’s brand and I’m a healthy metrosexual – but they fit great!

KDHamptons: What inspires you to come show your support for Super Saturday today?

Mark Feuerstein: My aunt Ina passed away four years ago from Ovarian Cancer. It’s a cause near and dear to our hearts. My uncle Andrew has been very involved in the organization (OCRF). It’s so important to raise money to help find a cure for ovarian cancer.  In the years we’ve been coming to Super Saturday, they’ve been doing incredible research, finding the gene that can detect breast and ovarian cancer and women can prevent it much better than they have been able to in the past. Now they can save millions of lives, thanks to this incredible organization….
