Need a new look for Christmas or New Years parties in the Hamptons? Head over to the new John Dillon Salon in Southampton for some pretty pampering!  KDH stopped in for some beautifying recently because our favorite manicurist Angelina has joined the John Dillon team. The salon is so gorgeous, bright and comfortable~ we love it!

Here’s the scoop you need to know:

John Dillon: Owner, stylist, make up artist, colorist and bridal party expert

KDHamptons: Can you tell KDHamptons readers about your new salon?
John Dillon: For almost 20 years, I have loved making women and men look great and feel good about themselves. My passion is doing total make overs, and changing the whole persona of a client from cut to color to make up, and teaching them how to maintain that look out of the salon and into their daily lives. I felt that I had a lot to offer this community, and wanted more than just working for someone else. I now have the freedom to build a fantastic team of experts, who are dedicated to our local year round community, as well as our summer clientele. That is why we are offering $22 blow outs all winter with the junior stylists and other wonderful discounts during the week…including a frequent booking program.

KDH: What do you think is the trend for holiday hair color in the Hamptons?
JD: WARM!! Auburn tones always look great on the skin and has incredible shine. Darker at the nape…going lighter at the crown gives you that illumination effect. Deep chocolatey brunettes are always beautiful

KDH: What are your favorite products for keeping colored hair healthy through winter and why?
JD: We are thrilled to be one of the few salons out here to carry Sojourn hair care products. All of their products are alcohol free, as well as sulfate, paraben, formaldehyde, and gluten FREE!! There are no artificial colors, and are 100% biodegradable. It has a low PH so it really closes the cuticle layer, keeping the hair super smooth, and locking in the color. This tremendous product is also formulated with UV inhibitors, there for protecting your hair from the sun, without making the hair heavy.

KDH: Do you plan on hosting any events in the off-season? Will you stay open all year round?
JD: Yes, we are a year round salon. We love our local year round clientele and always want them to know it!! There are times locals feel slighted in the summer, so we go out of our way to make sure that doesn’t happy at the John Dillon salon and day spa. We are planning an event after the new year for beauty from the inside out with local doctors to promoted health and beauty. We are very active in hosting events and doing so much for the local charities. We are constantly donating our time as well as gift certificates for all charities

KDH: What makes the John Dillon salon different than the other salons in the
Hamptons?
JD: We are truly dedicated to our locals, and the community. We always want this town to be growing, and moving ahead…. and keeping everyone beautiful!  Of course, we have such a phenomenal team…that is what sets us apart from the rest…. the care and dedication we have is truly a blessing.

Angelina Daraio-Hayes: “I am a licensed cosmetologist, that enjoys ever aspect of the beauty business for almost 30 years! I do everything from hair color, to pedicures, but facials and making people unwind is my favorite!”

KDHamptons: Fill us in on your new role at John Dillon?
ADH: John and I have been best friends and worked together for 10 plus years. I was happy to follow him, and help him make his dream come true! WE are .. and always have been a terrific team! We always make bold statements…especially for brides and wedding parties. His skill with up-dos and hair styling and my make up applications make us unstoppable…He also does gorgeous make up!!

KDH: What do you think is the trend for holiday notice-me nails?
ADH: Holiday trends are very exciting this year… METALLIC!!! GLITZY!!! FUN!! Taking smokey to another level… using metallic shadows, deep dark liners inside the eye and out….heavy lashes…a good trick is to add a smokey shadow over the liner to keep it set, and sultry. Lips… are all about the deep burgundy, red wine tones. make ’em pop! just keep the blush on the lighter side…..a lil “shimmah” on the cheek bones make you ready to party… and stand out in the crowd!!

KDH: Do you have the new gel system that lasts for weeks?
ADH: Yes, we use the Shellac….it’s great for long lasting color!

KDH: Hamptons beauties rave about your facials. What is the best facial to keep skin pretty through fall/winter?
ADH: I am all about making the skin GLOW!!! but I also want the experience to be a pleasurable one. “The Foo Foo” is a deep cleansing facial… most of the time I incorporate microdermabrasion to get the old skin off, then I focus on massaging the feet, neck, shoulders, and scalp, while I rehydrate the face. It’s everyone’s fave… including mine!

KDH: You also have an incredible baking business on the side~ what will you be baking for Christmas? Where can we order your tempting treats?
ADH: Everything I seem to do is nurturing… from massaging people to feeding people! LOL! We also have a lot of orders for my “Lolli Cakes,” which can also be purchased at The Deli Counter in Southampton, as well as cupcakes. For Christmas, I am experimenting with an Italian Honey Orange cake, that is actually made with panko bread crumbs!! How good does that sound?
