Don't Hedge Your Bets! Lazy Landscaping In The Hamptons Could Land You In Jail~ No Joke!

Hey neighbor, you are about to be fined!
It looks like you could cut yourself on this perfect hedge row! Now that's more like it Hamptonites!

Hey KDH readers, did you hear that the Village of Southampton has just passed a law that requires all hedges to be trimmed at least once a year? As crazy as it seems that there could actually be a law put into effect regarding hedge trimming….we love it! Why not keep our beautiful town looking pristine?!

Lazy landscapers be warned: homeowners who are caught slacking can face a whopping $1000 fine and be tossed into the big house for two weeks [no, I don’t mean that big house on Meadow Lane].

Local lawmakers say that the goal of the law is to “prevent such hedges from becoming overgrown and unsightly.” Reportedly, residents who attended the village boardroom meeting burst into applause upon the measure’s passage.

KDH had a chuckle yesterday when I took this photo [above]: Looks like one of my fastidious neighbors got the memo about the measure, and one did not! UH-OH!
