Fancy Peasant Brings Mediterranean Magic to Zagara

On July 30, Fancy Peasant brought a taste of the Mediterranean to Zagara at Faraway Sag Harbor for a golden-hour celebration filled with olive oil, dirty martinis, Mediterranean longevity bites, and a little Hamptons-style wellness. The evening celebrated Fancy Peasant’s summer collaboration with Zagara, complete with custom bottles of the brand’s signature Liquid Gold Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Guests gathered over a Greek-inspired menu by Chef Jarad McCarroll, featuring olive oil french fries topped with mountain oregano salt and feta, herb and parmesan gnocchi, crab and apple crudo, skinny spanakopita, and a watermelon, avocado, and feta salad. The star of the evening, however, may have been the custom olive oil ice luge, where guests took shots of Fancy Peasant’s Liquid Gold between sips of dirty martinis and dirty martini jello shots.

As golden hour settled in, Lauren Besselman provided the evening’s soundtrack while guests mingled among beautiful florals by Three Little Wolves and took part in intuitive Soul Blueprint Readings from The Barn and Reiki sessions on the porch with Heal with Deidre. A beautifully crafted olive oil and fig cake by La Famille Bakery offered a sweet finish to the night.

Founded by actress and entrepreneur Anastasia Ganias-Gellin, Fancy Peasant is inspired by the Greek traditions she grew up with and a philosophy centered around exceptional ingredients, nourishing food, family and community, and the ritual of gathering around the table. Its signature Liquid Gold is an organically grown, single-estate extra-virgin olive oil made from 100% Koroneiki olives grown in Greece, and has become the centerpiece of the brand’s growing Greek-inspired longevity pantry.

The East End, where Ganias-Gellin and her family spend their time, has become a natural home for the brand and its community. The evening brought that spirit to life, gathering friends, family, fellow founders, and guests around the table for good food, thoughtful conversation, and plenty of olive oil.

From dirty tini’s and feta fries to olive oil shots and porch-side Reiki, the celebration put a playful Hamptons spin on the Greek art of living well – and made a pretty convincing case that the secret to a perfect summer night might just be good friends, golden hour, and a little Liquid Gold.
