Hero Volley, the next-generation beach volleyball experience created by three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, returned to Montauk for its second year July 28-30. The multi-day event brought together the world’s top professional athletes, rising talent, local legends, VIPs and culture-shaping communities through unforgettable events inspired by a shared love of the game. The dynamic tournament reimagines what beach volleyball can feel like – immersive, aspirational, deeply human and undeniably fun.

Taking place at iconic venues throughout Montauk, including Hero Beach Club – the birthplace of Hero Volley and inspiration for its name – the event blended elite competition with music, wellness, hospitality and coastal lifestyle experiences. Each event features some of the best players in the world competing alongside high-level amateurs and beloved local standouts, creating rare access, authentic connection and a level of energy typically reserved for the world’s biggest stages. A portion of proceeds from the event will benefit the Hampton Lifeguard Association, supporting the local heroes of beach safety and water safety initiatives.

“I’m thrilled to bring Hero Volley back to Montauk for its second year,” said Kerri Walsh Jennings, three-time Olympic gold medalist and founder of Hero Volley. “This event has always been about more than competition – it’s about connection and community through the sport that has given me so much, and continues to give back in return. This year, we’ve expanded the programming to create even more ways for people to experience it on and off the sand.”

The invitational tournament brought together elite professionals, VIPs, local lifeguards and standout amateurs across thirteen dynamic teams, culminating in a high-energy competition on the sand. This year’s participating athletes include: Taylor Crabb, Andy Benesh, Phil Dalhausser, Troy Field, Casey Jennings, Taylor Sander, Brooke Nuneviller, Taryn Brasher and Kristen Nuss Cruz.

Partners supporting the event include: East End Surf Club, Franklin, Upper Deck, SLUNKS, Spiked Ade, Firefly Recovery, Spiritual Gangster, Saint Spritz, Hammitt Bags & Accessories, The Beachwaver Co., FabFitFun, Vesey, Montauk Brewing Company, Drift Wellness, Organic Krush, Stretch Zone, Montaukila, Saratoga, Cob Foods and The Jewelry Group.
