Is there anything better on a hot summer day than a delicious cold ice cream cone? The timeless treat is a favorite amongst kids & adults alike. There are lots of ice cream emporiums that serve up America’s favorite sweet treat out here on the East End, but we’ve managed to narrow down our top two favorite ice cream spots below! Both serve up a big variety of fun summer flavors and American classics, willpower be warned!!

1. Big Olaf: 8 Wharf St Sag Harbor; (631) 725-5058

If you’ve ever been to Sag Harbor I’m sure you’ve been to Big Olaf. At times too crowded to bear, the line up for this bucolic ice cream shop on the wharf can seem to stretch on forever, but KDHamptons, like other loyal patrons agrees that the ice cream is well worth the wait.

With hand made warm waffle cones and jumbo size portions, next time you’re out in Sag Harbor be sure to stop by Big Olaf’s because there isn’t anything more Hamptonsy  than strolling along the super-sized yachts anchored in the marina with your honey and a Hazelnut Fudge cone…….sprinkles too please!

2. Slo Jacks: 212 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays; (631) 728-9601

Old school spots like Slo Jacks are few and far between nowadays in the Hamptons. With a “drive-in” feel, this burger and ice cream makes you think a roller skating waitress will glide up to the car to take your order!

The vintage Happy Days vibe can be found throughout the restaurant from the classic American comfort food menu, including: big burgers, crispy fries and sweet shakes, to the vintage 50-year old mini golf course located behind the restaurant [the oldest course in New York state!] . A great place to bring the kids, my step-daughter Lily can’t get enough of Slo Jacks chocolate soft serve ice cream! Rich and creamy, this treat is hard to beat!!
