SUITE NY Owner Kris Fuchs Picks the 12 Best Chandeliers for a Hamptons Home!

Brass chandelier designed by Gabriel Kakon and Scott Richler

Is there any ONE item that can dress up a room more than a extraordinary chandelier? NO! KDH is on the hunt for a sweet new “chandie” to hang in the turret of our Victorian farmhouse. My first stop? Checking in with haute Hamptonite Kris Fuchs [pictured below], co-owner of SUITE New York, a mid-century modern and contemporary furniture showroom, to see what she is loving right now. SUITE’s carefully curated collection always includes iconic European designs, alongside newer pieces from international up-and-coming designers.

Kris shares, “For many of us, our Hamptons home is a vacation home [though I’d love to be out there year round]. This allows a certain amount of fantasy to come into play when choosing lighting. Let’s face it, most of the day is spent outside, or in the ocean, so we don’t turn our lights on all that much. So in reality, your Hamptons lighting needs to be as amazing ON as it is OFF. ”

Adding, “Another consideration is that when you do turn the lights on, you want your lighting to duplicate the effect the sun has on us. The sun warms us, make us happy, raises our Vitamin D levels, calms us, relaxes us. I want my lighting to have the same effect, but also be a conversation topic and a beautiful object to admire on it’s own.”

KDH ASKED KRIS TO CHOOSE THE 12 CHICEST CHANDELIERS FOR A HAUTE HAMPTONS HOME BELOW:
