The fashion world is forever changing, growing, and adapting to the needs of consumers…and now, the PLANET! The much loved clothing company, LoveShackFancy, has just released their Sustainable Collection that was especially made for Earth Month. The brand’s sustainable collection of reworked vintage and hand-dyed silk slip dresses, quilted minis, and embroidered tees are now available exclusively in stores.
Creative Director for LoveShackFancy, Rebecca Hessel Cohen, has said said that their story has always been vintage, “It’s just who we are.” From the time Cohen was a little girl, her love of found treasures and hand-sourced gems have inspired a decade of timeless collections and the world of LoveShackFancy. Inspired by vintage finds, LoveShackFancy is rich in detail, flattering silhouettes, soft hues, and intricate lace, with an emphasis on whimsical hand-dyed fabrics and enchanting vintage-inspired romantic floral prints.
The brand believes everything has a second life, endlessly sourcing vintage treasures to create beautiful pieces that they hope will live in the closets of generations to come. LoveShackFancy promises to always be thoughtful about the way they approach what they do from the design process, to the partners they work with and materials they use. They are committed to a continued investment in improving the brands impact both environmentally and socially. The brand believes it is the small changes that they continually make that add up to a bigger difference. While admitting that they are far from perfect, they are continually evolving and committed to doing their best.
LoveShackFancy’s current sustainability programs below:
-Recycled Fabric;  they are committed to never wasting any of their fabrics by saving the scraps to reuse them wherever possible such as incorporating them into trims or design elements to limited edition future styles like bags and bracelets.
-Packaging; Biodegradable polybags are used to ship the majority of the brands products and the the majority of their boxes and tapes are made from recycled materials.
-Organic fabric; This year the brand has focused on working with their partners to use vegetable dyes or dyes from natural waste, and organic fabrics.
True to fashion, everything old can become new again…which is good for the environment too!
