Katy's Courage

Hamptons based charity Katy’s Courage is a not-for-profit organization created to honor Katy Stewart, an inspirational 12-year-old girl who died from hepatoblastoma, a rare form of pediatric liver cancer. The organization is dedicated to pediatric cancer research, education and counseling.  Katy’s Courage has two great events coming up before the holidays which need your support.

Next week, on Wednesday, November 18, Katy’s Courage will host Katy’s Kids @CMEE, beginning at 5:45 p.m. The purpose of Katy’s Kids was to create a place where kids could go with their families to grieve and gain support due to life events such as the death of someone they love, divorce, adoption, foster care, immigration, etc. Much of the counseling for children  comes through expressive therapeutic play, such as art, music, poetry, dance, movement, drama and writing. The sessions first began in August and have been slowly growing every since.
