Captain Shannon

Ready to elevate your Hamptons summer with serious style (and a splash of sea breeze), take a seat at The Captain’s Table, Yacht Kelpie’s most culinary season yet. Captain Shannon and her fabulous crew have teamed up with none other than Chef Jean-Georges to debut an all-new, ultra-refined onboard menu. Not to worry, Kelpie’s classics still sail strong, but now the culinary experience is next-level with thoughtfully curated dishes that hold up beautifully at sea, pair perfectly with bubbles, and feel just right under the sun.

She’s named Kelpie, after the Scottish name given to a shape-shifting water spirit inhabiting the lochs and pools of Scotland. Many myths tell the story of beautiful and beguiling maidens or mermaids that are able to change form into water horses. Designed by Francis Sweisguth and built at the Harvey Gamage Shipyard in 1928 in Maine, Kelpie is a 78.8ft traditional gaff-rigged schooner once employed by the U.S. Coast Guard to hunt German U-Boats during WWII.

Kelpie’s beautiful Captain Shannon shares, “How does one describe doing the thing you love most, sailing on one of the finest yachts in the world? I have built a business around my passion for quality and hospitality, indulging guests with decadent, gourmet spreads, deluxe service, and leisurely sails to beautiful destinations on this dazzling, airy, elegant vessel.”

This season introduces a totally reimagined caviar service, expertly crafted by Michael Cavaniola that’s luxe but never intimidating. It’s exclusive to Kelpie and totally made for those “rosé in hand, wind in your hair” kind of afternoons.

And for an extra splash of glam? Kelpie is welcoming the beloved Oyster Bliss onboard as a featured add-on. She brings not only stunning oysters and flawless shucking skills, but also effortless elegance that instantly makes every sail feel like a celebration.

Whether you’re booking a dreamy brunch sail, golden-hour cruise, or a full day out on the water, Kelpie departs from Breakwater Yacht Club in Sag Harbor and sails through late September. From Memorial Day vibes to end-of-summer soirées, this is the kind of elevated escape you’ll be talking about long after dock.
