Ron Wendt

Event and garden design guru Ron Wendt is one of our favorite people in the Hamptons. Ron is not only inspirational when it comes to giving sage garden advice and fabulous event planning tips, he’s also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Each season, Ron transforms the Parrish Art Museum for the annual Mid Summer Party, below he shares his inspiration for his “Radical Seafaring” design scheme with KDHamptons. “I worked with neutral, honest tones of nautical canvas sails and coir rope rigging, which we installed over head along with woven basket lanterns, transporting the long porch into a watercraft from a far off land,” says Wendt.

Ron adds, “Twenty-four foot long dining tables featured sun bleached raw cut canvas cloths, while heavy ship’s rope meandered and coiled down past each diner while driftwood and hand blown glass vases supported tall water side reeds.”

“As night fell, moving water imagery, projected by Levy Lighting, was cast on the vast sails overhead as guests navigated their way to the dance floor.”
