Party Punch

To make the simple syrup, bring a half-cup sugar and a half-cup water to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat; cook, stirring until sugar dissolves. Let cool. For the cranberry ice cubes, drop a few cranberryes into each section of an ice-cube tray; fill with water, and freeze until solid.
[ingredients]2 cups chilled unsweeteded pomegranate juice
1 cup chilled cranberry juice
½ cup fresh lemon juice (from 2 to 3 lemons)
1 cup (8 ounces) vodka
1 cup (8 ounces) Cointreau or other orange-flavored liqueur
1 cup chilled club soda
½ cup simple syrup
