Opening Day at The 42nd Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show

The highlight of the Classic’s Opening Day is the $30,000 Boar’s Head Open Jumper Challenge presented by Dan’s Papers, which follows the Opening Day Ceremonies in the Hampton Classic’s famed Grand Prix Field.

The adorable Leadline classes feature riders as young as 2-years-old. Leadline classes begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Grand Prix Field. Opening Day also features the traditional Local Hunter Divisions, which are open to horses that make their home on Long Island, and culminates in the $10,000 Marders Local Hunter Derby.

FEATURES: The Hampton Classic, August 27-September 3, is one of the world’s most prestigious horse shows and features competitors at every level from young children in leadline to Olympic, World, and World Cup Champions. The show culminates with the Classic’s feature event, the $300,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix CSI****, presented by SOVARO® on Sunday, September 3.

 


A new addition to this year’s Opening Day is a Dressage Exhibition by East Hampton native Stephanie Brown Beamer, an FEI level competitor and trainer and owner of Hampton Dressage at Pinnacle Farm in Watermill, NY. Her demonstration aboard “Gryhpon Z” will include a number of upper-level dressage movements along with a shortened Grand Prix Musical Freestyle that will be narrated by Anne Howard, a fellow FEI competitor and trainer.
