NEW KDHamptons Travel Diary: Montauk's Historic Panoramic Resort & Residences

To mix things up during in the fall season, KDHamptons loves to book a “staycation” at a local Hamptons hotel that I’ve always wanted to try. Why deal with airport hassles and canceled flights when we can jump in the car and head out to Montauk for a carefree weekend of fun, great food, and relaxation? Last week, I cruised out to “The End” [Montauk’s nickname for you city slickers] to check out the Panoramic View Resort and Residences. I love the relaxed vibe of Montauk, the friendly people who live there year round, and the dock-to-dish culinary scene. Check out my “staycation” photo diary below and plan your own fall trip to the Hamptons now — October and November are such beautiful months here…..

Comprised of a group of different structures, The Panoramic View resort in Montauk was established in 1957 and has been a historic beachfront Hamptons destination for over fifty years. Nestled within a hillside of fragrant pines, this magnificent property encompasses over ten oceanfront acres on 1,000-feet of sandy white beach. With lush green landscaped lawns and lovely flower gardens, the resort offers guests all of the amenities of having a Hamptons home, with none of the hassles of maintaining it. Who doesn’t love the idea of having a turn-key beach chic cottage on the ocean in Montauk?

Montauk style is decidedly casual and cozy. I packed leggings, lightweight Ralph Lauren cashmere sweaters and my cute new Rain Rap cape, and UGGS. I also like to bring my own beautiful bathrobe when I travel, this pretty silk robe below is by Soffia B.

Owned and remodeled by Distinctive Management LLC, each guestroom, suite and beach cottage overlooks a beautiful white, sandy beach and spectacular seascape. In the summer, the resort offers a pool with private lounges and cabanas affording spectacular ocean views and personal attendants.  Guests also have access to the fitness center, business center, concierge, porter and daily maid services, plush king-sized beds, fully-equipped kitchenette, television, phone, heat and air conditioning. All rental units – efficiency studios as well as one-and-two-bedroom units – feature picturesque windows that highlight the stunning view, as well as a private terrace or balcony. The Panoramic Resort is perfect for short-term, long-term, and off-season rentals.  Montauk can get pretty overcrowded in the summer, so heading out there for a weekend staycation during the fall is ideal. No traffic, and it’s easy to get a reservation.
