Chase Edwards Contemporary in Bridgehampton held an artist reception on Saturday, July 21st for Patti Grabel to celebrate her new exhibition Causing a Stir. The afternoon reception, which was sponsored by Moët & Chandon, welcomed more than 150 guests, including artist Randall Rosenthal and North Haven Village Mayor Jeff Sander.

Guests took a first look at Grabel’s new photographic works printed on paper and glass depicting wooden spoons. The collection combines Grabel’s passion for art-making, food and entertaining, to reveal themes that touch upon nourishment, sensuality, creative expression, aspirations and the liberating act of taking chances. Each of Grabel’s new works serves as a page in her personal storybook. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition benefits City Harvest.

Patti Grabel works from her studio in Water Mill. This is the second exhibition at Chase Edwards Contemporary. One of her pieces was included in a 2017 benefit event supporting Michael Bolton Charities. Her work Musical Spoons (2017) is in the private collection of Sound Point Capital located in the Seagram building at 375 Park Avenue, New York. Musical Spoons was also selected for the Museum of Arts and Design’s 60th anniversary Diamond Jubilee MAD Ball as part of their silent auction.

Those who attended the reception were also invited to respond to a question in a book created by Grabel to accompany the exhibition: how will you fill your spoon today? Causing a Stir is on view through August 4th at Chase Edwards Contemporary (2462 Main Street, Bridgehampton, New York 11932) and you can learn more about the exhibition at http://www.chaseedwardsgallery.com/ and http://www.pattigrabel.com.
