Montauk surfer girl Pamela Sweeney, designer of Pame

KDHamptons loves discovering new design resources on the East End. It feels like we have a seemingly endless amount of inspired designers, artists, and artisans living in the Hamptons community. We recently connected with Montauk jewelry designer, Pamela Sweeney, a self-proclaimed huge nature lover, and the pieces she creates reflect it. Pamela shares, “My line [Pamé] is a bit beachy, glamorous, and elegant ~ all wrapped up in one! I like to design things that feel like the beach, but can be worn in the city. Mixed mediums are my favorite thing to do…I love creating something unexpected.” Learn more about this boho beach babe in her KDHamptons Design Diary below:

KDHamptons: How long have you been living in the Hamptons and how does the East End inspire you?

Pamela: I split time between Aspen in the winters, and my summers are spent in Montauk.  I also spend quite a bit of time in a rustic part of Mexico where I built a house ~ a little getaway where we go and just surf. Most of my inspiration comes from spending time outdoors. I am huge surfer, skier and biker.  My husband Shannon of 20 years develops Real Estate, and we have four awesome kids. We love Montauk and I grew up spending my summers in the Hamptons while living in NYC.

KDHamptons: How would you describe your brand?

Pamela: Beachy, elegant and unfussy all at the same time.  I want people to feel like the can wear my jewelry anywhere while feeling different from the crowd.

KDHamptons: Do you sell your collection on the East End?

Pamela: Yes, Lazypoint Point Variety in Amagansett sells my jewels.  I also do private events.  I have an online store as well www.pamedesigns.com

Silver Stardust Pearl Wrap Bracelet; $95

KDHamptons: What would you say are the best highlights of the Hamptons to share?

Pamela: The big, white, sandy beaches, architecture, cute little nooks and crannies in all the different towns, and East Hampton Point [because I got married there].

KDHamptons: What does your typical day in Montauk look like?

Pamela: First thing? I grab any kids that are awake, skate to beach [below], and check the waves. Grab a Giant Coffee Cake from The Ditch Witch, [unless the waves are good… then I skate home as fast as possible],  bike back with my board of the day and surf as long as possible, watch my kids play at Ditch, play a little volleyball, Harvest for dinner, John’s Drive-In for ice cream.

KDHamptons: How would you describe your Hamptons home?

Pamela: My home is a “Love Shack,”  as close to waves as possible.  The smaller the better.

KDHamptons: What is your favorite Hamptosn restaurant and dish?

Pamela: Montauk roll at the Inlet is what I think about all winter.  The Tuna melt at the Dock is always a favorite. Dessert at  Sole’ East, and maybe a little ping pong at Rushmeyer’s.

Pamela: I have a few different collections with varying looks and price points. My line is very  bohemian and beachy with a celebrity following of Gwyneth Paltrow, Giuliana Rancic, Hillary Scott and others.
