Montauk's Best Kept Secret: Lynn’s Hula Hut Returns for Summer 2018

PSST!  Did you know that Montauk has a secret authentic Polynesian-style cocktail den?  We do!  Montauk local, acclaimed bar chef, restaurant designer, and author of the well-received cocktail book Tiki with a Twist,  Lynn Calvo, will reopen her hotspot Lynn’s Hula Hut on May 18th for summer and will stay open weekends only until June 15th, after which the stunning waterfront location will be open daily from 11am to close.

The beloved hangout features handcrafted, exotic concoctions infused with fresh herbs, fruit purees, and vegetables, as well as tapas-style bites featuring tacos, Bang Bang Shrimp, fresh fish, and shaved fennel slaw.   In July, the Hula Hut will partner with another local favorite, Goldberg Bagels, for an epic make your own Bloody Mary & Bagel bar.

Lynn’s Hula Hut overlooks the waterfront at the Montauk Marine Basin, standing at the edge of the harbor adorned with bamboo siding and surrounded by sugar white beach sand and large swaying palms. The air smells of the sea as well as mint basil, and cilantro from her herb garden which she uses to make her famous drinks like her almost world famous Hula Juice Rum and the Shark Bite Margarita. The cocktails only use freshest local ingredients, such as the edible lavender, indigenous honey, and fresh fruit purees.

This relaxed tiki bar has a rustic, bohemian vibe and features live original music daily beginning at 5 pm, offering patrons the option to unwind at the bamboo bar, relax waterfront below swaying palms, or in a day bed in the Zen Den (also known as the Boom Boom Room after sunset).  On Sunday, June 10th, Lynn’s Hula Hut will host the Blessing of the Fleet, to mark the blessing of the local fisherman for the season and to celebrate they will be hosting an all-day music festival that will also mark the official launch of Lynn’s Hula Hut’s summer season.
