Over the past two years, KDHamptons has helped aid in the adoption of many dutiful dogs and compassionate cats at the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation (SASF). We love receiving fabulous emails from the shelter informing us that KDHamptons readers have been coming to the rescue of these adorable animals in need of a Hamptons home!
The Southampton Animal Shelter will be at the Pet Expo Adopt -A -Thon at the Riverhead Polish Hall, 214 Marcy Ave. on Saturday, April 6th from noon until 3, so stop by to meet the pups and cats available for adoption!

We hope you might consider adopting one of these dogs in need~ what better gift is there than to save a life? The Southampton Animal Shelter has been working nonstop to show these dogs a lot of love~ bathing them, holding them, and spreading the word to help find them a home. [pssst! If the timing isn’t right for you to adopt now, you can make a donation to underwrite one of the shelter pet’s cages as well].

I thank you for your help! xx KDH

Axel is a rock star of a cat! His owner moved and couldn’t take this handsome 4 year old with him. Axel could play all day and entertain you at the same time.

Queenie [above] is looking for a home to reign you in! This 3 year old, soft, sweet, girl had a ruff beginning. Queenie can be very picky about other dogs, but she loves people of all sizes. This Hamptons hound would prefer to be your one and only “royal subject.” KDH hung out with Queenie at the shelter for an afternoon and fell in love with her soulful eyes and lonely, loving desire for a parent. I hope you give her a chance to warm your heart too! Click the photo at top to play a video of Queenie!

This 10 year old American Eskimo “princess” is in need of a special home. Princess can be a “diva” as she is stuck in her ways at times. She could use home willing to give her the TLC she needs. Someone who can appreciate her “special-ness” will get along with Princess “royally!”

Tango [above] is a 6 year old orange cat who came from a hoarders house in 2010. He is still waiting his turn for a home. Tango likes other cats and used to live with 2 dogs. He certainly knows how to share! Cats here for more than a year are free and come with 6 months of food and medical care through the month of March. Tango has been waiting 3 years!

**The truth is, there are many special needs animals at the Southampton Animal Shelter that could use a home with a heart. TLC specialists are needed for our senior pets. Fostering a needy pet is one of the most important things an animal lover can do! Adopt or just foster -we need heros!
