Ever since attending a spring photography lecture at the Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack, KDH is in love with the magical grounds of this secret garden. This weekend the Conservancy hosts their Much Ado About Madoo benefit, celebrating 20 years of the Madoo Conservancy.

KDH pal, Alejandro Saralegui [below left], Director of The Madoo Conservancy shares,”What makes Madoo so magical is its poetic and romantic nature. I’m a linear thinker and like classical compositions, but Madoo has taught me to be much freer with my garden designs…..and even my way of thinking.”

Alejandro adds, Much Ado About Madoo is our signature event and this year we’ve busted it open to two days! Year by year it gets bigger and bigger, but in a nice organic way. Also, we’ve got painting classes in the garden that start July 11 and we end the summer with a free cocktail party for members on September 20. It’s our way of saying thank you to our devoted members, and a great inducement to joining the Madoo Conservancy!”

The two day long event will begin with the Garden Market Party on Friday June 14th with a Silent Auction presented by Jamie Niven. The auction will include Swedish-inspired hors d’oeuvres from award-winning chef Görgen Tidén, special Madoo cocktails from Hendrick’s Gin and wines from the Wölfer Estate Vineyard. Auction lots feature trips to Sweden, beautiful garden furniture, and wonderful home accessories. Sounds fun right?
