If you have never visited the magical Madoo Conservancy in Sagaponack, then make sure to do so next weekend at their annual benefit: Much Ado About Madoo: A Secret in the Garden. The celebration begins on Friday, June 19th with a cocktail party and garden market preview, and continues on Saturday June 20th with a garden market, which is one of the most highly anticipated events of the summer season for gardeners and non-gardeners alike. The full weekend of events takes place in the internationally renowned Madoo Gardens, and proceeds from the event benefit the Madoo Conservancy which administers the gardens, structures and programs at Madoo.

Director of Madoo Conservancy, Alejandro Sarajelui shares, “What makes Madoo so special is its poetic and romantic nature. I’m a linear thinker and like classical compositions, but Madoo has taught me to be much freer with my garden designs…..and even my way of thinking.” If you are an avid Hamptons gardener you will love this event.  Here’s all the details:

Friday, June 19, 6:00 to 8:00 PM: Cocktail Party and Garden Market Preview

An elegant garden party featuring a live auction with celebrity auctioneer Jamie Niven featuring: artwork by Madoo founder Robert Dash; a children’s party on the grounds of Madoo; and an always popular lot of eight sacks of chicken manure. Additionally a silent auction offers carefully curated lots generously donated by local vendors.  Tickets: $150 Madoo members, $200 non-members.

Saturday, June 20, 10:00AM to 7:00PM: Garden Market

The market features over 25 exclusive dealers of garden furniture and accessories, rare plants, garden antiques, gourmet foods and more. Vendors include Hunter Boot, Sag Harbor Florists, Cire Trudon, Glover Perennials, Fermob, Walter Attaway-The Shop, CricketsCrush, Austere c/o The Maidstone, Victoria Amory & Co. and Wolfman-Gold.  Tickets: Free Madoo members, $20 non-members.

Saturday, June 20, 12 Noon: A Talk in the Garden

Meet Frances Schultz [pictured above] author of The Bee Cottage Story, and Charlotte Moss author of Garden Inspirations as these leading style-setters discuss the pleasures and pitfalls of gardening and decorating. This exclusive, catered luncheon on the back lawn at Madoo will provide an intimate occasion to meet these two leading style-setters as they discuss their recently released books.  Tickets: $125 Madoo members, $150 non-members.

Saturday, June 20 5:00 to 7:00PM: Once Upon a time At Madoo

Saturday evening will focus on children and families will take place on the back lawn near the Hornbeam Bower. A relaxing time of story telling and music performed by a string quartet from The Juilliard School. The vibe of the evening will be casual and family friendly, with Madoo capitalizing on providing educational and environmental awareness through various children’s programming initiatives.  Tickets: $100 for family of four, $25 individuals.
