Born and raised in Greenwich Village, Leyla Marchetto would have never thought she’d end up living in Montauk! And even through she grew up in the restaurant world [with a famous father in the restaurant business, Manhattan’s Da Silvano!] she never thought she’d own a restaurant either! Well..she was wrong on both counts!
Since graduating from Georgetown, she has worked in and around public relations for various lifestyle and hospitality clients including Thompson Hotels, Hotel St. Barth Isle de France, the Cannes and Sundance Film Festivals, and the Brit brands Lulu Guiness and Cath Kidston. After a stint working for rocker Lenny Kravitz’s design firm Kravitz Design, Leyla decided to switch gears and follow in her father’s footsteps [sort of!].
In 2010, together with her fiancée Franklin Ferguson, and friends Frank and Kristina Davis, Marchetto opened Navy Beach, which in two short summers has become the designated destination for style mavens, models, East End celebs, foodies and the chicest of beach bums!
Now happily residing year-round in Montauk, Leyla is a freelance writer for various publications including Hamptons, NextStop, and Boating Times Long Island. Off-season, she and Franklin enjoy traveling, spending time with their puppy Mochi, and making plans for future restaurant projects. One day, Leyla hopes to retire in St. Barts..
