Looking for one last winter getaway this season? Switzerland’s No. 1 Luxury Resort Hotel, the legendary Kulm Hotel St. Moritz is your perfect escape. The Kulm Hotel first opened its doors in 1856 and was the first hotel to be built in St. Moritz. With Swiss hospitality that goes back over 165 years in combination with it’s prime location at the heart of the local village, this 5-star retreat is hard to resist.  KDHamptons shares the design details behind the newly renovated Corvatsch Suite, and luxurious spa at our favorite Alpine getaway, below.

The Kulm Hotel St. Moritz recently unveiled their major renovation to the Corvatsch Suite, formally known as the Presidential Suite. Local Swiss architect Rolf Som and award-winning interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon led this grand renovation project. The pair have previously worked on luxe properties such as The Four Seasons George V in Paris, The Savoy in London, and the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. The transformation of the suite brings new elegance and luxury to the hotel’s top-floor suite.

With almost 2,000 square feet of private space, the Corvatsch Suite is the perfect escape for luxury travelers this winter. The suite amenities now feature a plush king-size bed, outdoor terraces with stunning views of St. Moritz, a spacious living room with an open fireplace, an adjoining dining area, and a shower that doubles as a steam room.

The spacious suite’s name derives from the nearby Corvatsch Mountains; only adding to the historical element of this special resort. While the name is rich in history, the design team introduced contemporary features to the space, including 70s-inspired sustainable dining armchairs (designed by Patricia Urquiola), Little Petra VB1 Sheepskin armchairs (designed by Viggo Boesen), and a cozy Noonu sofa (designed by Antonio Citterio). Inspired by an Alpine Chic aesthetic, the suite highlights locally sourced materials, such as Valser granite in the kitchen, quartzite elements in the bathroom, and Swiss stone pine around the interiors; a true immersive experience.

For the traveler who wants to relax, the newly renovated Kulm Hotel St. Moritz Spa is a haven and hideaway for those seeking ultimate relaxation, comfort, and harmony. You will find stunning views of Lake St. Moritz and a three-pillar wellness concept that unites relaxation, detoxification, and regeneration. Connect with nature’s beauty while taking a dip in the heated outdoor pool, which is surrounded by pristine nature, or find your zen while indulging in one of the many detoxifying treatments that the spa has to offer.

Feel the sun on your face and the Swiss snow under your boots while you ski on 350 kilometres of slopes. Corviglia, the “backyard mountain” of St. Moritz, along with the Corvatsch and Diavolezza ski resorts, all offer you an exceptional skiing experience. Whether you want to train for the Engadine ski marathon, test your limits on the race tracks or prefer to glide along the illuminated night trails at a later hour, beginners as well as pros guests will find the perfect cross-country ski trail for their ability.

Not a Skier? The resort also offers scenic hiking trails, ice skating and tobogganing.
