On Saturday, July 11th, television news legend, Chuck Scarborough and his wife Ellen [above, left and right] hosted the Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue’s 4th Annual Summer Benefit at their beautiful Southampton pond-front home. The event featured several highlights, such as a doggy red carpet and a photo booth. It also included silent auction tables, catered food from NYC restaurant Between the Bread, and Hamptons local food favorite, Buddha Berry and a live auction including a VIP tour around the NBC building with Chuck Scarborough himself, VIP tickets to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, an Andy Warhol limited edition print, and a ride in an authentic World War II 6-Fighter plane.

Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization founded and directed by Michelle Neufeld Montak. GSAR’s mission is to rescue animals who are destined for euthanasia in high kill facilities across the country and to ensure the overall health of every single dog they rescue and make sure they live happy lives with families who love and cherish them. They pride themselves on matching each of the animals with his or her ideal forever family.

Among the many human and dog guests were eight special dogs who were hoping to be adopted that night, as well as dogs who had previously been adopted and fostered through the Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue program. All the funds raised from the event will go towards rescuing even more perfect puppies and making sure all their dogs get proper medical care before being placed in a home.
