KDHamptons is excited to share that Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton will host a seasonal technique-based cooking class with chef de cuisine Kyle Koenig [below] and pastry chef Cassandra Shupp. On the third Wednesday of each month, Topping Rose House opens its kitchen for a hands-on, seasonally themed cooking class led by Kyle and Cassandra. After learning the techniques behind each dish in a three-course menu prepared with ingredients from the on-site farm and local farmers and purveyors, guests will sit down to enjoy their meal with wine pairings from a local vineyard. Class participants can also choose to stay overnight at the 22-room property for a discounted rate. KDHamptons tied on an apron for the first class held on December 17th.  Check out the incredible winter recipes we learned below for a Moscow Mule cocktail, Roasted Vegetables, homemade Gnocchi, Roasted Chicken, and an Apple Crumble in this NEW KDHamptons Feast End Diary, below:

Executive Chef Kyle Koenig brings his extensive culinary experience and passion for the restaurant industry to Topping Rose House. At the hotel and restaurant, Kyle creates a seasonal American menu prepared with locally sourced ingredients, including vegetables from the property’s one-acre farm. Born and raised in Denton, Texas, Koenig spent summers on his grandparents’ farm where he grew vegetables and prepared meals with his family. Years later, after graduating from high school, Koenig took a job as a dishwasher at a local restaurant in Dallas and quickly fell in love with the fast-paced energy of the restaurant kitchen.

Topping Rose pastry chef Cassandra Shupp [above] brings her extensive pastry experience to the restaurant at Topping Rose House. At the East End restaurant, she creates the seasonal dessert menu prepared with locally sourced ingredients, including fruit from the property’s one-acre farm.  Growing up in a small town outside Philadelphia, Shupp spent much of her childhood baking with her mother. From a young age, her artistic side showed, especially in the kitchen as she enjoyed creating beautiful desserts.
