The iconic Hampton Maid in Hampton Bays.

Heading to the Hampton Maid for a home cooked breakfast has been an East End tradition since 1959.  Officially reopening for the season this weekend, this charming B&B in Hampton Bays serves a country style breakfast daily from 7 am, cooked by Chef Steve Poulakis. The Maid offers spring specials, fresh berries in creme, seasonal melons, corned beef hash, steak-n-eggs, fresh baked muffins and more. They don’t take reservations so there can be a 20 minute wait in the middle of summer, but there are plenty of open tables now. KDHamptons loves to sit on the terrace, read the paper, write a couple stories, and eat a gorgeous breakfast alone or with friends.

The omelette sampler is a fan fav: three different mini omelettes with hash browns and pumpernickel toast
The stack of blueberry pancakes is a home run.
Egg white omelette with spinach, tomato, mushrooms, and swiss.
The Maid also makes excellent Eggs Benedict.
The Hampton Maid is across from the Shinnecock Bay.

The Hampton Maid is located at 259 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays. Go to www.hamptonmaid.com for more info and to see some of the country chic rooms and cottages they offer as well.  The gift shop has a great selection of trinkets from local artists including hand-carved birdhouses.
