KDH loves to catch up with her West Coast pal, CC SKYE. Based in Los Angeles, CC SKYE embodies true “IT-Girl” style with long blonde locks, pouty lips, loads of gutsy accessories stacked on her tan arms, and a pricey power bag thrown over her tan shoulder. Sound like every hot girl in LA? Au contraire mon frere! CC happens to design and manufacture all of the bags and baubles she sports around town! Nominated for Best New Accessory Designer by GEN ART, CC SKYE marries unpredictability and wearability in her eponymous collections. Each season, celebrity stylists and fashion editors turn to CC SKYE to deliver the “must-have” accessories that perfectly fuse uptown elegance with a downtown edge. Featuring the same luxe aesthetic as her much-coveted jewelry line, the CC SKYE handbag collection skillfully pairs gold hardware crafted in her jewelry factory with gorgeous imported Italian leathers.

Get this~ CC SKYE first began designing clothing and jewelry in the back streets and bustling bazaars of Kathmandu Nepal while on a six-month study abroad! She lived with a Shaman in the hills of the Himalayas while filming a documentary on Hindu and Buddhist worship. While her wardrobe overseas was well-suited for hiking the Himalayas, CC- always a true LA Girl at heart –longed for her Missoni and Chanel whilst living in her mud hut. “I traded in my hiking boots and began to make dresses with the help of local seamstresses.. I was instantly transported back to glamorous feelings of home!’” She added metal work and gems to her creative pursuits. “Getting out of the consumerist mentality of the West really helped me to slow down and make something, rather than just go out and buy it. It was the first time I had ever used my hands for anything,” explains CC.

After returning to Los Angeles, CC SKYE worked in identifying upcoming fashion trends for companies such as Louis Harris in Paris, worked on music and fashion documentaries for MTV Networks, and profiled fashion designers for the Style Network. During a hiatus in the television CC began to work with a local craftsman in LA’s jewelry district and one summer later, the CC SKYE brand was born!

CC lives in Malibu, California and her jewelry & handbag collections are available in over 800 stores around the world. KDH is working to convince CC to open up a Hamptons outpost next summer, but in the meantime~ we asked her to share her top CC SKYE picks for haute Hamptons girls! Thanks CC!

CC shares, "I love the Hamptons because it's the Malibu of the East Coast. Seeing the escapism from the city is such a beautiful thing and there's nothing like balmy summer nights in the Hamptons. We don't have that in California!"
"The bags in the fall collection have a lot of rich colors and textures like green croco and also features a good balance between structured and softer styles. I loved bringing bright pops of color in to my fall jewelry. The Lindsey and Natalie bracelets are some of my favorite leather pieces so I designed them in both neon and neutral tones," says CC.
"I love the idea of making a classic messenger bag in an exotic snakeskin," shares the designer.

The designer muses, "The CC Skye country girl has an effortless, boho-chic style to her. She can wear jeans and a t-shirt but throw on some fabulous bangles and a chic bag like the Rich Gypsy and she's ready to go!"
KDH wonders: Now that I am the wife of a doctor, don't I need my own "Doctor Bag"...in snakeskin???
