KDH Entertains: OMM…Check Out My Indian Dinner Party Plans! A Trip To Little India For Saris, Bangles, And More...

KDH loves to entertain, especially in the fall season! I always think culturally themed dinners are so much fun. Who doesn’t like to get dressed up in a fun sexy outfit, try some exciting new cuisine, and be wowed by a gorgeous new table top decor concept? I love it! So……Doc & I are throwing an Indian themed dinner party this weekend at our Hamptons home for about twenty friends. The girls are wearing colorful silk saris, and the guys will hopefully sport a Neru jacket! Will there be a bold turban wearing guest? Please!!! My Indian writer friend Ravindra Yande will be supervising the sari wrapping and overseeing my menu which will be prepared by a chef from Dawat in Manhattan [Nope, the Hamptons doesn’t seem to have any Indian chefs, I tried!].

Check out my preliminary party planning pix from this week. I have a few more things to do~ like add some more red and orange colored Mums to my front porch, and find the perfect shade of turquoise linen napkins, but I am pretty much ready for the party. Once you pick a theme, everything starts to fall into place. Come back to see the party pix, recipes, and decor shots after the weekend!

Start planning your own theme dinner & share it with KDHamptons!

Namaste….

Heading into Manhattan to find the perfect sari and party decor!
My first stop was to see Serle, at OM Boutique in Little India...
At first I thought I would choose a pink sari....but I went another direction in the end!

KDH picked up bunches of bright bangles to give my girlfriends when they arrive.
Serle has a great selection of ornate gold necklaces and headpieces.

Topiarie floral boutique on Jobs Lane in Southampton is my local stop for interesting table top items. I found these beautiful Indian Christmas ornaments that I can put in the center of my table!
Topiaire also had these pretty turquoise buddhas! How lucky! I also love the idea of adding some of those little moss arrangements to my table decor.
I am obsessed with paperlesspost.com invitations! It took me ten minutes to design this and email it out to my guests.
