“My son, Liam [William] started singing at 15 and hasn’t stopped since,” shares Erin Meaney, owner of Topiaire Floral Boutique and mom to Hamptons rising star, William Meaney.  “Initially he could not play guitar, but with a lucky series of events, we found Bosco, who is a local guitar legend. He and Liam clicked instantly, and learning to play the guitar became easy,  Bosco then put us in touch with Cynthia Daniels of Monk Music studios and she made his first CD a possibility.  Liam would sing outside my Topiaire Candy Shop in Southampton on weekend nights and would lure people in, walking around the village, who would sit and enjoy listening to him sing in the courtyard….and before we knew it, my son was backstage about to audition on The Voice!”

Things are happening fast for our Southampton superstar. After spending four months singing in the streets of Galway, Ireland last fall, and singing in the subway in Germany.  Liam was prepped and ready for his BIG BREAK.  When he got back to the US, he submitted a video to The Voice television show.  He was selected to audition in New York City and made it through that initial cut.  Next up?  Producers flew him to Los Angeles for five days where he was also selected from that group of musicians to move forward.  Erin shares, “I was pinching myself, knowing that 40,000 kids auditioned, and only 96 were chosen for a shot at the infamous Blind Auditions.  He spent a month out in LA preparing for ‘The Blinds’.”

“Auditioning for The Voice was the greatest, coolest experience of my life,” Liam tells KDHamptons. Although Liam did not get a chair turned at his blind audition, country superstar Blake Shelton told him he should come back and try again. “They all had only one spot left on their teams, and Alicia Keys team was already full,” he adds. I won’t give up, and will try again to secure a trip to the blind auditions next season. Right now it’s so fun watching all of the friends I made during the process battle it out to become The Voice!”
