Good Girls Go Bad Swathed in Kilian Hennessy's Sexy New Scents!

KDH loves choosing a new scent each season, and this Fall I actually have two! Both are by Kilian Hennessy: Forbidden Games and Good Girl Gone Bad [I guess those two things sorta go well together anyway, no?]

Historically, the Hennessy family name is known in the luxury market for producing the finest cognac. Named after his grandfather, who also cofounded LVMH, Kilian decided to take up the family torch, creating a new luxury brand of fragrances. Kilian’s childhood haunts included the family cellars in Cognac. Before graduating from the School of Higher Studies at the Sorbonne, he wrote a thesis on “the semantics of scent”.

Killian says he was led into the world of perfumery by the “angels’ share,” which is what the House of Hennessy calls the percentage of cognac that-‐inexplicably-‐evaporates from their cellars, like an offering to the gods. Many of Kilian’s fragrances today carry his childhood memories, as they are reminiscent of the sugar in the alcohol, and the wood of the cognac barrels.

After training with the greatest noses at prestigious perfume houses such as Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen and Giorgio Armani, Kilian launched his own namesake brand in 2007 with the ambition of reflecting not only his distinct personality, but also to apply an “eco-‐luxe” philosophy: each bottle can be refilled and kept for a lifetime, therefore creating less waste for the planet. By the end of 2012 and five years since its launch, the world of Kilian will include a total of 19 scents, spanning across 4 different fragrance collections: “L’Oeuvre Noire”, “Arabian Nights”, “Asian Tales” and his latest “In the Garden of Good & Evil”.
