Family Fun: Apple Picking At Seven Ponds Farm In Water Mill!

Seven Pond Farm has over 14 varieties of apples to pick from!!

Seven Ponds farm is the perfect place to go if you’re looking to do some apple picking with the kids. I went with my stepdaughter Lily over the weekend. Lily grabbed a red radio flyer wagon and we we plotted our picking [the farm has over 14 varieties of dwarf trees!]. We settled on Fuji, Gala, and Golden Delicious.

Before entering the orchard we were given a brief tutorial from an apple expert: “Turn the apple three times and the lift it from the bottom up until it snaps off~ do not tug the apple down off the branches!” I had no idea there was a specific technique to follow. Note to self: Need to learn some new recipes for all of the apples I bought…

If the kids get bored in the orchard, there is plenty more to do! Seven Ponds farm offers: a corn maize, hay rides, a wooden playground, pumpkin picking, a farmers market and delicious fresh roasted corn on the cob. There really weren’t any lines over the weekend, but they are also open weekdays if you prefer to pick in peace.
