KDH is totally obsessed with looking at real estate….are we moving? NOPE! I just love to admire inspired architecture, materials, and new design ideas happening in the Hamptons. On Sunday morning, after a long walk on Cooper’s Beach, I noticed an Open House sign for 44 Meadowmere Place and rolled on in…

Lucky me! Turns out the builder of the home was hosting the open house~ love that! Ed Mulderrig of Mulderrig Builders [a family business established on the East End of Long Island in 1999 by three brothers: Edward, Kevin and Matt] warmly agreed to give me a personal tour of the gorgeous home.

Raised in Huntington, Long Island, the bro-trio grew up spending time in the Hamptons and “feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to live and work here now.” Working in all aspects of construction [both commercial and residential], they specialize in building high end residential homes on the East End of Long Island.

Builders of the 2005 Hamptons Designer show house, Ed shares with KDH, “We strive to create homes that will stand the test of time. Each of us brings their own individual strengths to the team. Along with using the highest quality materials for the job, we continuously examine new technologies and building techniques including green design.”

This is a newly constructed home, ready to move in with all the amenities of a Hamptons dream house. Situated on one of the only cul-de-sacs in the Southampton Estate Section, and a bucolic five minute walk to the ocean, this is the perfect family retreat in the heart of the Hamptons. Some of my favorite design details include: the custom mill work throughout the home, coffered ceilings, Radiant heat flooring, and incredible specimen trees.

The home is outfitted with “smart technology” and has been built for lasting luxury, with custom details and high-quality finishes throughout its ample rooms. Filled with natural light, wide oak flooring leads from the welcoming entryway to the comfortable living room [below], with two sets of French doors and clerestory windows opening to the sprawling lawn.

The pristine kitchen is spacious, and perfectly  [above], planned out for formal events yet spacious enough to handle the parties where everyone inevitably ends up chatting at the eat-in dining area! How much would you love to prepare dinner on these white Calacatta marble counters?? A great looking adjacent butlers pantry leads to the formal dining room [below].

Upstairs, the master bedroom has its own sitting area with access to decks that provide open views of Cooper’s Beach [Atlantic Ocean]. The master has cathedral ceilings with wood paneling, fireplace with flush bluestone hearth and surround French doors leading to mahogany decking and a sitting room with another fireplace! There are five additional en-suite bedrooms for family and friends to stay in comfort and privacy.

The home boasts more entertaining space throughout, including: an additional den area, fully finished lower level, wine cellar, media room, spa, and recreation room.

Outside, the patio leads to the 20’x40′ heated Gunite salt water pool with spa jacuzzi. The chic little pool house has a full bath, kitchen and living room. Walk to the beach through a protected, kid-friendly trail, or hop on your bike for the 1 mile trip to downtown Southampton Village.

What a special home! Now~ all you need to move in is a cool $10,4999,000…..
