KDHamptons is always making new Instafriends on the East End.  One of my fav foodies I follow is @dinewithant who will be sharing some of culinary adventures with our readers this season.  “I have been summering out east with family since a child,” shares Anthony Waltz. “I always looked forward to those summer months in East Hampton and the same holds true today. The only difference now is that I love my time spent in the Hamptons year round. It’s the perfect escape! I work in Finance in NYC where the days can be so hectic and stressful.”

“I eagerly anticipate my weekends out East where I can unwind with a glass of my favorite Wolffer wine or a freshly made margarita, spend time with family and friends, dine at some of the finest restaurants or just simply relax at the beach. I have a passion for cooking which I picked up from my Sicilian Grandmother who taught me so much of what I know in the kitchen. I love to entertain, and most weekends I have a full house where I’m cooking for family or friends.”

“My primary influence comes from my Italian background and world travels, including my time spent in Italy growing up and when I lived in Hong Kong. My goal is to publish a cook book and share some of the amazing recipes that have been in my family for generations. Until then, I am always sharing some of my favorite dishes and recommendations on social media which has been well received.  Here’s my typical Hamptons hit list of favorite stops..”

Bottle Hampton – A stocked bar is essential in the Hamptons. When I leave NYC to head out East, I always stop off at Bottle Hampton in Southampton. They have a huge selection for all your bar needs and a great supply of local wines as well which I love. The staff is very helpful offering great recommendations and they deliver as well. Sign up for their bottle bucks card for even more savings.

Round Swamp Farm – I only cook with the freshest ingredients for all of my meals. Quality produce is key when cooking to maximize the flavor and Round Swamp has it all from fresh herbs and produce, desserts to prepared snacks and sides if I don’t feel like cooking. I always stop off at the East Hampton location on my way home to pick up their local tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. They really have the best tomatoes in the Hamptons! For a quick summer staple side dish, slice some tomatoes and mozzarella, add a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper, fresh basil and a drizzle of your best extra virgin olive oil. It never fails!

Sunset Beach on Shelter Island is my ultimate favorite place to relax and unwind and accessible by land and sea. You truly feel like you are transported to a private locale in the French Caribbean but yet you’re on beautiful historic Shelter Island. The sunsets are possibly the best out East. Whether I am there for dinner, drinks or both, Sunset Beach never disappoints with Chef Jose Andres and his distinctively modern approach to cuisine. And a perfect spot to people watch!

The Seafood Shop in Wainscott is a must have for all fresh and locally caught seafood. Route 27 can be rather hectic during the summer so I head over early in the morning for the latest catch of the day. The Montauk swordfish is always amazing and delicious grilled with a little olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper. It’s a typical dinner I make when I have a house full of people because I know it’s easy to prepare and something everyone will enjoy.

The Hideaway –  When it’s time for me to kick back, my go-to place is The Hideaway in Montauk for the best margaritas in NY! They have a wide variety of tequilas and flavors but my ultimate favorite is the Peppercorn Passion Fruit Margarita with salt. So crisp and refreshing and perfect on a hot summer day. The Hideaway offers a great selection of lunch and dinner as well. Their nachos with beef brisket are a favorite of mine! I am a huge margarita fan and The Hideaway passes my test every time!
