Roy G. Geronemus, M.D. and the Laser & Skin Surgery Center (LSCC) of New York have opened a gorgeous 3,200 square foot branch in Southampton, staffed year-round by Elliot T. Weiss, M.D., who sat down with KDH to fill us in on the hot new practice that has all the Hamptons ladies buzzing! This Harvard grad, and Johns Hopkins trained board certified dermatologist [who was fellowship trained at the LSSC] lives in Sagaponack with his wife Lauren and new baby Lillien. Dr. Weiss tells KDH, “We saw the demand in the Hamptons for the services we offer, and decided to open a full service branch of our Manhattan office.”

Specializing in dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, laser procedures and Mohs Micrographic Surgery for Skin Cancer, the Southampton office has a cozy Hamptons beach cottage feel with white wainscoting and dark wood floors. John Todaro photographs of local landmarks hang on the walls.

Dr. Weiss is a Board Certified Dermatologist, with a two year Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery for skin cancer, Laser Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Weiss personally performs a wide variety of laser treatments for aging skin, birthmarks, wrinkles, tattoo removal, hair removal, body contouring, blood vessel removal, and leg veins with the most state of the art lasers and equipment on the East End.

KDH: What is the most common skin care concern for Hamptonites and how do you treat it?
Dr. Weiss: Because people spend so much time outside in our beach community, I see a great deal of sun-related skin problems. One of my most popular cosmetic treatments for sun-damaged skin is a combination of the Fraxel DUAL Laser and Q-Switched Ruby
Laser. It gives you a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance while also evening out skin pigmentation.

KDH: What is the biggest mistake patients can make when it comes to injectibles and laser treatments?
Dr. Weiss: Getting Botox or laser must be taken seriously. I think it is very risky to receive Botox, filler injections or laser treatments from a non-physician. I have also been happy to see a “less is more” trend happening in the Hamptons with patients requesting a more natural, youthful appearance.”

KDH: You have spent many years in the Hamptons, including a stint as a tennis pro at The Maidstone Club! Can you describe your perfect day?
Dr. Weiss: Lauren and I put Lillien in the baby Bjorn carrier, head over to Sag general store for coffee, and then walk down to Gibson Beach. Afterwards, I like to do a little road biking, and in the evening I love to stay home and cook a great meal for my wife
