Exclusive KDH Diary With Bridgehampton Motor Club's Adam Bellin: Kingpin Of Collector Cars In The Hamptons!

This vintage Jaguar looks like it was built for Daisy Buchanan....

Admittedly, KDH does not know a lot about collector cars, other than that I love to look at them and day dream about driving a convertible on the back roads in the Hamptons with a scarf tied round my ponytail and my little yorkie Ted enjoying the sunshine in the passenger seat, tucked safe inside my Birkin bag [miss you Teddy]. So when Adam Bellin, Managing Director of the Bridgehampton Motoring Club invited me over to see his slick new facility it sounded like a fun idea.  So here’s what we know now!  :)

Adam Bellin: The Kingpin of Collector Cars in the Hamptons!

The Bridgehampton Motoring Club is unlike any collector car facility in the nation. BMC offers what was once only available to private collectors with tremendous resources: the perfect home for your important automobiles.  Adam shares,”We provide 24-hour key card access, humidity and temperature control, comprehensive video security, epoxy floors, tasteful lighting, rare automobilia, and most importantly services: Pick/up and delivery, battery maintenance, bi-weekly mechanical integrity routines, and detailing.” Every member of BMC has unfettered access to their collection.

BMC also houses an important automobilia collection, a members lounge, and outdoor picnic areas. Certain areas of the facility are available for private functions like the roadster rally KDH attended with my stepdaughter Lily Kot and her pal Ella.

“This is not mini-storage,” Adam shares, “While we have the capacity for over 60 vehicles, we will cap our membership at 30 vehicles. This is to prevent the need for owners’ cars being moved and to maintain an atmosphere that is more like a museum or a club than a storage garage. Except for the event of an emergency, no one touches your car but you.”

*BMC is particularly useful for people who visit the Hamptons on weekends as they are located walking distance from the Bridgehampton stop of the LIRR and the Jitney bus service.  Sooo take the bus, and then jump in your $300k car~ hey that works!

Here is the menu of services at Bridgehampton Motoring Club:
• 24 hour key code access for all members via highly secure gated entrance
• Temperature and humidity controlled environment year-round
• Individual access to power for battery trickle charging
• BMC now has our own truck and trailer for your car delivery needs. Door to door service now available*
• Flat-bed pick-up and delivery
• Member access to full suite of Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras at the facility which may be viewed over the internet
• On-site detailing services
• Bi-weekly mechanical integrity routines
• Maintenance and Inspection coordination
• Auction and concours preparation
• Hard top storage
• Selected facility areas, lounge and picnic area available to members for personal events

Feel like cruising out to Montauk to watch the sun set on Ditch Plains? “Day or night, you can take your car out. Drive it like it was meant to be driven~  24 hours a day, seven days a week, you have complete and unfettered access to your collection,” says Adam.

In the event you are unable to exercise your vehicles on a regular basis, KDH will happily go do it [Haaa~I kid, I kid!!].  Adam has that covered too, “BMC offers bi-weekly Mechanical Integrity routines which ensure that your vehicle’s engine, transmission, suspension, and hydraulics (if applicable) stay well lubricated, and the electrics are level and your tires avoid flat spots. These important routines will enable you to enjoy almost all of the benefits of regular usage and are included as part of membership.”  Wow!

Lily and Ella check out the classic Porsche at the Hamptons Rally which Adam hosted.
This 1960's Volkswaagen minibus was Lily's favorite car!
