Hamptons native Greg Ammon has announced the launch of his new brand and flagship store, Big Flower, in East Hampton located at 23 Newtown Lane. The store, scheduled to open to the public in May, will serve as the benchmark for eleven future stores. “Some of my best childhood memories revolve around weekends in East Hampton. Ammon shares, “I wanted to create a brand where people, no matter who they are or where they may be, can get a feel for a weekend in the Hamptons, every day, all year round.”

The men’s collection is a full range of handmade, contemporary wear and accessories from breathable button-downs and unlined suiting, to ultra-soft t-shirts, joggers and summerweight sweaters. The debut womenswear capsule line consists of summer basics and necessities such as relaxed tunics and beach dresses.  Greg and his fiancé, Stacy Volkov have created the line together with Stacy leading design for the women’s collection.

The name Big Flower stems from a modern day family crest created in the 90’s and used on t-shirts the Ammons gave to friends and family who visited in the summer. The crest, designed by Greg’s mother, came about shortly after he was adopted from Ukraine and said his first English words “big flower” when he saw a field of sunflowers in the Hamptons.

The 1,000 square foot store is designed around the idea of a traditional East Hampton cottage. The clean white shell interior is accented with walnut, antique brass touches and carrara marble finishes. Rich sisal carpet runs throughout the space, leading to a comfortable lounge area with painted white floors where customers can shop and enjoy a complimentary cup of Big Flower’s debut tea.

A salon-style gallery wall showcases classic East Hampton photos of the landscape and community, including those of Greg’s own family photos from the Hamptons. True to the Big Flower ideals of supporting family and community, the gallery will also showcase pieces from local Hamptons’ artists. Guests are encouraged to relax in the space and listen to a specially curated playlist while enjoying some tea or champagne. As an homage to the Big Flower logo, the exterior store front features a white planter box full of flowers. Every weekend, there will be sunflowers outside that guests may take with them as a memento. The outdoor patio is another welcoming space for guests to enjoy a drink and take a break from shopping.  Big Flower will be available at their flagship store, as well as their e-commerce site, www.bigflower.com
