Over the weekend, The Children’s Museum of the East End celebrated the release of Primates of Park Avenue, the #1 New York Times bestseller by Dr. Wednesday Martin. The author spent the night celebrating the book, as well as devoting the night to recognizing the amazing work that The Children’s Museum of the East End does for the kids and families of Long Island.  All proceeds from the books sold at the event were donated to the museums Head Start program. “To support CMEE’s mission is to support every child on the East End and all families of every income level,” Martin encouraged her guests.

This week, MGM bought the rights to the memoir, which made guests even more excited for a personal reading of the critically acclaimed book by the author herself at the event. Martin shared the first chapter of her book in which she discusses the reasons why she decided to move uptown, where the rest of the stories takes place.  After the reading, she greeted guests by personally signing their copy of Primates of Park Avenue and thanking them for supporting not only her book, but the wonderful Hamptons museum that she calls an “important and special institution.”

The insightful, intelligent, and often hilarious Primates of Park Avenue explores and decodes the behavior of Upper East Side mothers. It has been getting a lot of buzz, especially on the topic of who will play the Manhattan mothers that Martin studies in the book on the big screen.
