The Roundtree Amagansett: The Ultimate fall getaway
No matter the season, sometimes New Yorkers just need a little escape from the chaos of daily city life. Enter, The Rountree Amagansett– an intimate property carefully tucked away on historic farmland in the charming village of Amagansett.
Known as a must visit summer destination, this boutique gem is arguably even better to visit during the shoulder months. Set on pristine grounds and surrounded by large billowing trees, The Rountree is reborn as temperatures begin to drop and the leaves change color. Shades of burgundy, amber and burnt orange blend together orchestrating the perfect autumn backdrop.
You’ll be bothered by little noise while at the eight-guestroom, five-cottage property– just the soft sound of footsteps walking along the white pebble pathways, the crackling of the outdoor firepit, leaves swaying and falling to the ground and banter between guests who realize they’ve found respite in the same place as their fellow New Yorkers.
Set on two lush acres, the property features a sprawling Great Lawn where guests can relax in hammocks, plush couches or chic white lounge chairs; play games like cornhole or foosball; enjoy daily afternoon tea and nighttime smores; or simply bask in the luxury of East End living.
Once a working farm, The Roundtree pays homage to its heritage and Amagansett’s farm-steading legacy through its design choices; natural color palettes, wide-planked hardwood floors– Not to mention, its guestrooms are housed inside a fully restored farmhouse dating back 100 years.

During a visit to The Roundtree, the staff is always ready to assist whether its topping off your wine glass, offering a freshly baked cookie (which seem to always somehow be warm), chauffeuring you to the beach upon request to catch the sunset and just about anything else to ensure your stay is exceptional.
While things do slow down in the shoulder season, visitors still frequent the village and locals keep the energy alive. Children and dogs play in the park, moms shop post-Pilates at The Row, couples stroll the sidewalks and friends catch up over dinner at the cozy spots like Il Buco Al Mare– all just steps from The Roundtree.
Now that the property has ushered in its first Personal Chef in Residence, Chef Diwa Wijaya, the guest experience is further enhanced with a worldly culinary journey. The French-trained, Indonesian chef brings seasoned expertise from his acclaimed work with COMO Hotels & Resorts prior to his Hamptons debut.
At The Roundtree, Chef Diwa Wijaya reinvents the traditional dining experience with custom menu planning, cooking demonstrations, personalized in-cottage dining, and ongoing culinary consultations—all designed to deepen each guest’s connection to wellness through food.
His 5 course tasting menus consists of standout dishes such as steamed kingfish in banana leaf, raw tuna maki roll, spiced sweet corn soup, rolled pandan crepes with coconut filling and more.
The James Beard Foundation also has their eyes on Chef Diwa Wijaya as they welcome him to collaborate on a dinner at Pier 97 in New York City this December 3rd along with Chef Cedric Vongerichten from the revered Wayan.
Together, for one-night-only, the chefs will present a modern interpretation that blends refined techniques with the layered spice and balance of Indonesian cooking.
