In this, the first of two Art of Science Workshops, children, with their adult companions, will mix and grind their own paints using natural pigments while learning about the history and science of paint-making. Then participants will use their new handmade paints to paint pictures of animals and landscapes. This is an unusual opportunity for children to learn about the relationship between art and science and how to use natural materials for art-making.
