celerie“Life has seams. Your home should be like a loosely woven fabric of desires, memories, practical, notions, and even compromises,” shares Celerie Kemble.

“I grew up in Palm Beach so I have the attitude that outdoor furniture is not “occasional”. It needs to be comfortable, durable, and beautiful because it usually resides in the most stunning backdrop of any home- outside!” shares Celerie Kemble of Kemble Interiors. “My childhood was in many ways a design tutorial spent around construction sites, antique stores, and in the unique homes designed by my mother.” Kemble is know known for her candor, humor and approachable design advice, cultivating a portfolio of much publicized residential and commercial interiors that are as unique and diverse as her clientele. Celerie shares the launch of her chic new outdoor furniture collection for Lane Venture in this NEW KDHamptons Design Diary, below:

Celerie KembleThe Mimi Collection

KDHamptons: How would you describe your Lane Venture collection in your own words? What inspired your design?

Celerie Kemble: Inspiration comes from need and I found myself looking for flirtatious, whimsical and feminine outdoor furniture. My inspirations for this collection stem from a blurred, almost faded photograph of 1930’s to 1970’s vintage Palm Beach and Cuban inspired sunroom furniture. I am also enraptured with Victorian wicker.

KDHamptons: This collection is perfect for a Hamptons home, which pieces do you think will be the most popular here?

Celerie: I suspect the Rafter, the Awning and the Crespi Collections will appeal most in the Hamptons but I think there is a home for all of this furniture.

KDHamptons: Do you summer in the Hamptons? If so which town? What do you love about the Hamptons?

Celerie: I have lived in New York City for almost 20 years and have spent time as a resident, or a house guest in just about every town in the Hamptons. I love the fresh mozzarella, Sunday breakfast outside and the long light as the sun sets across the fields.

KDHamptons: What do you think is the design trend in the Hamptons right now?

Celerie: I think they all exist concurrently and that’s what’s fun. What isn’t being done in the Hamptons?!
