Bridgehampton resident Ramy Sharp, the designer behind ready-to-wear label Ramy Brook, launched her line in 2010 in New York. Her collection consists of chic, wearable pieces that can easily go from day to night….as well as Hamptons to St. Barth’s. A busy mom of three, Ramy shares, “I endlessly searched for the perfect, versatile top that I could just as easily pair with jeans as well as a skirt, or wear under a suit, hence the Ramy Brook collection was born. The first tops I designed were the start of what would become my full, comprehensive collection of separates.”

The Ramy Brook collection consists of pieces created in luxe fabrics including silk crepe, silk charmeuse, jersey and chiffon. Everything is made in New York City, where materials are also sourced. “I am inspired by my mother’s chic style and my sister’s passion for vintage clothing; borrowing from these influences allowed me to develop my own unique sense of style.”

“Most importantly, I want to convey sexiness in a sophisticated manner,” Ramy shares. “My sensibility always went to sexy first, in a way that highlights the natural inner and outer beauty of a woman. Often these were low cut tops or minis, incorporating the sexy drape of beautiful fabrics in shapely, but comfortable forms.”

Sharp’s penchant for designing in a spectrum of vivid colors is “inspired by women of the Studio 54 era and the glamour that they evoked,” as well as by her travels. Whether in the Hamptons or Europe over the summers, on a tropical island over Christmas, or on the slopes in the wintertime, Ramy creates pieces that can transition to any occasion from day to play.

Ramy Brook is now carried in select luxury boutiques nationwide, as well as select Neiman Marcus and Saks locations. Aside from designing and running her own business, Ramy is actively involved in countless charities and enjoys shopping and traveling. She lives in New York City in the off-season with her husband and their three children.
