NEW KDHamptons Lifestyle Diary: Sagaponack's Pippa the Pomeranian!

Before launching KDHamptons, I was a fashion editor at Allure and Glamour magazine producing celebrity photo shoots and covers, which was heaps of fun.  There were certain stars who never lost that “girl next door” charm [Britney], and there were others that would light up a room as soon as they entered [J-Lo].  The latter can be said about Pippa, the Pomeranian pup who has the Hamptons under her spell.  You may have spied the pint-sized Pom attending glamorous parties, lunching with ladies, or riding in a bike basket through the farm fields of Sagaponack.  Now you can follow Pip’s adventures on her Instagram account @thedailypippa, and learn more about her in this exclusive NEW KDHamptons Profile.

KDHamptons: How old are you Pippa, and which hamlet do you live in the Hamptons?

Pippa: I am two years old, and I’ve been living in the Hamptons my whole life, but my mom has only been living here for about 5 years.  I have a pied-a-terre in NYC, and I like to go in and do city stuff sometimes − but the streets are too crowded for me to walk, so I mostly get carried around…which I actually prefer.  That way my paws stay clean and I can see better.  Looking at feet all day gets boring.

KDHamptons: What does a perfect Hamptons day look like for you?

Pippa: A perfect day for me is getting up and having some Gerber baby hot dogs and a little banana.  I can take my time eating breakfast because my mom goes spinning at FlyWheel. When she gets home we go to Starbucks in Bridgehampton, which I think is the prettiest Starbucks in the world.  It used to be a bank! Then usually I jump in my mom’s purse and do whatever she has planned for the rest of the day.  Lunch with her friends is fun; my mom has great jokes.

KDHamptons: What do you like to do in the off-season?

Pippa: I look forward to off-season SO much! Everyone in my family plays paddle tennis, so we get lots of outdoor time and plenty of exercise. Now they have courts at EHIT and Fernando teaches new players so I’m hoping he will give me some lessons too. I only weigh 3 pounds now so I may have to wait until I’m older.  Also, I love when my mom puts me in her bike basket and we cruise around Sagaponack with the wind in my hair.

KDHamptons:  You always look so pulled together.  Share your Hamptons glamsquad?

Pippa: Well thank you, but when my hair does get messy from all of my activities, I go for grooming at Harbor Pets in Sag Harbor. Joanne is really nice and makes me look beautiful.  My mom goes to Blow for her grooming and they make her look pretty too! I like going there with her because they make a big fuss over me and I am pretty much the center of attention. Other places that fuss over me are Garnet Hill and J McLaughlin where they offer me a little cookie…basically living in a small town is awesome because everyone knows me and treats me like a princess.

KDHamptons: What do you like to do in the evenings Pippa?

Pippa: At night I stay in and rest.  Sometimes my cousin Dill [below, left] hangs out with me, while our family goes out to their favorite places.  They love Almond,  Fresno, and Suki Zuki.  There are so many awesome restaurants in the Hamptons, it’s sometimes hard for them to decide where to go, but I am always so happy to see them come home.
