Danielle shares: Two weeks ago I was thankfully able to escape the cold and fly to Miami with my college roommate.  I had not been to Miami since my sophomore year of college, so I could not wait to enjoy the sunshine!

I stayed at her house in Coconut Grove, and we spent most of our time in Key Biscayne at the ocean. There were signs everywhere for the Miami Open, but the timing wasn’t right, it wouldn’t begin until after I had left.  I would have loved to have seen Novak Djokovic. We had a great time with friends at their beach condo at The Ocean Club — beautiful pool and tennis courts right on the water.  Their beach cabanas are amazing!

I am a beach girl at heart. I could spend all day swimming, taking long walks, reading my books laying on the sand, and listening to the waves. It was so amazing to relax with friends and have fun in the sunshine after this horrible winter we’ve endured in the Northeast!

Over the weekend, we caught up with two good friends of mine from the Hamptons who were also in Miami for the weekend. We had an amazing dinner at Restaurant Michael Schwartz at The Raleigh South Beach.  The outdoor setting was incredibly lush and beautiful, and the food was out of this world!  Thanks to my friend Rachel, who is the star hostess there — she made our evening very special.

I had the Grilled Octopus and Grilled Skirt Steak for dinner. Perfection!  This was definitely my favorite meal of the trip.  I have never been a huge fan of octopus, but this dish changed my mind!  We then continued our night in South Beach at Mynt.  It was Spring Break, so the clubs and streets were packed!!

After the weekend was over, I drove through the Everglades and up to Clearwater Beach for a few days to visit family and meet with a client before flying back home. I loved our hotel, the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, and the Island Way Grill Restaurant. I recommend them both highly. The beaches in Clearwater are so beautiful one would think you were in the Bahamas!

I’m hoping to expand my Social Media, Marketing, and PR business to include clients in Florida and spend more time there next winter.  Although it is good to be home, I will miss the Florida sunsets!!
